Bottled Lites, Sustainable Research - The initial idea began with a screen wall filled with recycled glass through which light filters into colorful textures. Slumping, or melting, glass has the potential of creating a more usable 'building block,' the initial tests were done in a kiln by heating and then slowly cooling the glass to prevent stress fractures. Further explorations of how these glass blocks may be implemented into the building materials have been explored through sketches and 3-d renderings.
