Shveima Associates is a creative studio made for telling your story. We focus on the design and development of content-driven exhibitions for history museums, libraries and other cultural, educational and corporate clients.
Principal / Creative and Managing Director, Shveima Associates, May 2012 to present As Creative Director, provides input on every aspect of the design process from initial concept to final installation. Conceptualizes, designs, produces, and supervises large and small-scale exhibit design and graphic design projects. Expert 3D drafting and rendering skill set, provides detailed production documents as well as photo-realistic presentation renderings of the planned exhibit space. Experienced in the design and development of all exhibit graphics, logos, signage and brochures as well as promotional mailings and newsletters. A skilled user of graphic design programs such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Proficient in digital publishing and coding HTML and CSS in order to produce companion iPad applications and websites for exhibits. As a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the National Association for Museum Exhibition, incorporates the AIGA Standards of Professional Practice and the Standards for Museum Exhibitions into everyday design practice. As Managing Director, works closely with clients and, depending on the project scope, a roster of associated professionals and is responsible for the planning, development and supervision of each project. Completed advanced project management courses at the University of Virginia and integrates best-practice techniques for design workflow, digital asset management and stakeholder communication into every project. Proficient in Filemaker Pro database creation. Served as a studio instructor to second-year and fourth-year design studios over three semesters. Previous work experience includes the Office of the Architect for the University of Virginia, the Department of Historic Resources of Virginia, and the Office of the Curator at the United States Treasury.
University of Notre Dame: Bachelor of Architecture, with a second major in art history; University of Virginia: Master of Architectural History; and as a Fulbright grantee, I conducted independent research on modern Scandinavian design topics while based in Stockholm and Uppsala, Sweden.
