Pet Mouse

Pet Mouse is the result of a unique class at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago called The Collectible Object, which is an initiative to promote interdisciplinary work at the nexus of art and design. The projects were fully funded and exhibited at NADA, NYC.
Pet Mouse addresses the memory of emotional attachment to a lost childhood pet. It incorporates six mice hides into a pocket-sized, portable mouse cube. Pet Mouse strives to challenge our notions of value, attachment and comfort.
“Only the children know what they are looking for,” said the little prince. “They waste their time over a rag doll and it becomes very important to them; and if anybody takes it away from them, they cry…”
“They are lucky,” the switchman said.
