I have 26 years of experience teaching at the Fashion Institute of Technology. My expertise lies in the teaching of digital programs for print as well as teaching traditional typography and design classes. During this time I have written outlines/syllabi for many classes. I teach students from these various disciplines: Communication Design, Advertising, Graphic Design, Advertising & Marketing, Illustration, both full time day students as well as continuing education students. I also have experience teaching in FIT’s Saturday Live Program, which is taught to pre-college high school students.
I teach a basic “introduction” to professional typography class in either a non-computerized or hybrid classroom, upper division design & production classes, as well as computer classes for the Adobe programs Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, which are taught in state-of-the-art, networked Macintosh computer labs, with large size color printing capabilities.
I am very experienced with the latest versions of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Professional. I have extensive working experience in the advertising and graphic design fields as well, and I am familiar with preparing files for the web, including front end development issues.
