C-10 You Later - Fini9shing-up posting the works from my 'Walking Around' series from 2011, this time, the tasty '65 pickup lurks down a gloomy alley. I had a blast creating the dark environments, and playing off of the sinister nature in each of the vehicles... Combination of digital and analog work (Illustrator, Photoshop and airbrush/ink on paper). Thanks for looking in!

Not Dad's - A sinister '50 Olds lurks on the cobblestone as night falls over the city... One last blast from the series for 2011! Pushing Illustrator and my skills for all they're worth...

Bad Cad - This was my take on a what-if, 1961 Caddy CTS-V. I started with a six-window sedan, as a coupe would have been too damned easy... A mild chop, some cleaning-up of lines and trim, healthy slam, LED-lighting, and a Pro-Charged engine complete the theme, with a nod to the retro feel. Drawn for Street Rodder Magazine's 'Street Cruiser' special feature.

Crowned - One of the pieces I illustrated while feeling-out direction for the AutoWeek calendar project: a '56 Crown Victoria poses in the street during a long night. Illustrator artwork, playing with my new tablet. Good times.

Headed Home - One of the pieces I knocked out while feeling some direction for the AutoWeek 2012 calendar project. I placed a mild kustom '55 Pontiac on the street, and played with some attempts to create a snowy night. Pushing Illustrator for all it's worth...

Back-Alley Bruiser - Another from that 'Walking Around' series, I created a dark and menacing back alley scene for this '61 bubble top. (note that you can see the reverse of the backdrop from my GT-R calendar piece, placing this scene on the opposite side of that fictional city). Illustrator art, post-processed in Photoshop and then w/airbrush.

Alley Rats - Another from the 2011 'Walking Around' series which sprung from the AutoWeek calendar project. This time, it's a split-window Vette and my Camaro/Nova mash-up lurking in an alley, just a few blocks away from the Merc image.

Evening Meeting - Continuing my series of cars scattered throughout a fictional city... A contemporary custom '57 Ford meets up with the A-Tona, a slammed Dodge packing a blown HEMI, mounted mid-ship as darkness falls... A ton of fun deigning both cars, and then telling some tales with them.
H Favorite qView Full Size
Story Telling - Another of the 'Walking Around' series, telling some stories with my automotive art and hot rod designs... Here's the aft-end of that kustom Merc, making a late-night call to the lady the car's owner is seeing on the sly. Just having fun, and placing the cars in some unique situations to play with atmosphere and lighting.

Blue Hawaii - I've been finishing designs for my Mahi Mah-T concept (which is currently being built by a friend in Hawaii... fo' real! ...and he had asked for me to complete the front view. Just Add Salt - Another of the twelve illustrations I created for the 2012 AutoWeek Magazine / Rad Rides by Troy / Studio PCK calendar, which launched at the 2011 SEMA Show.... this time, a Camaro ready for some land-speed action.

I re-worked the door-to-rear-fender transition to remove the odd bulge, opened air ducts pre-and-post wheel opening, and then worked to smooth airflow over the front with some block-out panels.

Horse of a Different Color - Another of the twelve illustrations I created for the 2012 AutoWeek Magazine / Rad Rides by Troy / Studio PCK calendar, which launched at the 2011 SEMA Show... This time, a tribute-styled Ferrari 458 on classic Borrani-style wires, egg-crate grille, some rounded headlamps and air ducts... and orange w/gold stripes paint.
I set it on a spaghetti western-style backdrop, just because.

Not-So-Subtle - The last of the twelve cars I illustrated for the 2012 AutoWeek Magazine/Rad Rides by Troy calendar, a GT-R featuring some heavy modifications. I wanted a wide body look, but without the added-on feel, so I pushed the fenders out at the cabin, and pulled the rear fascia out a touch for an added look of speed, without resorting to a spoiler, then set it on a more hot rod-style wheel.

Lurking - Another of the dozen cars I illustrated for the 2012 AutoWeek Magazine/Rad Rides by Troy calendar, this time, a full-on 370-Z. I opted to take the tuner look a bit further, and played-up the cartoony proportions, and set it all in a a gloomy setting to let the car pop a bit.

Clandestine Corvette - For the month of April in the 2012 AutoWeek Magazine/Rad Rides by Troy calendar, I sketched a modern interpretation of an IMSA/Can Am-style Corvette, tucked away in a warehouse setting, to give a back-alley brawler type feel. I opted o design a full body kit for this rendering, versus off-the-shelf parts.
