  • User Experience Designer

    Company overview: UL is a global independent safety science company dedicated to promoting safe living and working environments, UL helps safeguard people, products and places in important ways, facilitating trade and providing peace of mind. Founded in 1894, UL is a Chicago-based company with worldwide operations.

    UL - Wiklund Research & Design specializes in human factors - the art and science of developing user-compatible products, systems, and services. Providing full life-cycle human factors engineering services to meet regulatory, standards certifications and marketing requirements which allows manufacturers to use an independent third party to assess their products, design processes, and improve their in- house knowledge.

    My position: Support the development of products with user interfaces that protect against harmful use error, that are easy and efficient to use, and appeal to the intended users. In my work at the Health Sciences Usability department, I also evaluate a product’s interactive strengths and opportunities for improvement based on established HFE design principles and professional judgment. These design critiques can focus on a design concept, early prototype, working model, or finished product.

  • Interaction Designer / European Web Design Coordinator

    Company overview: Office Depot, Inc. is a global supplier of office products and services. Generates revenues of over US $14 billion annually and has 42,000 employees worldwide. It is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida.

    My position: I joined Office Depot after being approached by their Head of Creative Services in Europe to project managing the digital / web team. The team has expanded and now is part of the Brand Marketing & Communications department, responsible of all online and offline look & feel touch-points.

    I work as the lead digital designer on a number of key projects for Office Depot. My role as Web Design Coordinator involves me managing the digital team, working closely with a project team of professionals including e-commerce managers and specialists, account marketing managers, designers and technologists across the regional teams in Europe to drive traffic to the websites.

    My work includes managing a team of individuals who work together to build, maintain, plan, and design different aspects of sites, micro-sites, and landing-pages, managing the execution of brand design, banner and email campaigns, consumer website design and successful pitch work.

    Additionally I also provide art direction and guidance to designers and copywriters in order to deliver creative solutions that fulfill the business communication and marketing needs reporting effectively to stakeholders and throughout all levels of the organization for their customers and services.

    Responsible for successfully developing and implementing online strategies to positively impact profits through website conversions.

    Company overview: ACHTUNG! Is the dutch creative agency for the digital era. Is a highly successful interactive design agency specializing in digital media and online marketing solutions.

    My position: I was taken on in a senior role to head up the online design capability of the agency. I was responsible for some of the major clients’ designs such as Volkswagen, Skoda and O'Neill. My role included; concepts, detailed interaction and UX designs from conception to presentation, information architecture, building prototypes in Flash for website developers and creation of banners & email campaigns for several advertising strategies focused on generating brand awareness, return on investment, reducing costs, and brand positioning.

    The role was very hands-on and fast paced. In addition I also attended client meetings to capture clients’ requirements and managed several clients' projects and service suppliers, as well as providing coaching and guidance to junior designers.

  • Visual Designer

    Company overview: Havas Worldwide Digital (formerly Euro RSCG 4D) is one of the largest integrated marketing communications agencies in the world. Provides advertising, marketing services, corporate communications, and interactive solutions to global, regional, and local clients.

    My position: I joined Euro RSCG 4D after being approached by the Creative Director who head-hunted me for this opportunity within the agency as part of a highly creative digital team. My role as visual designer was to conceptualize and visualize ideas which served to guide other designers, animators and developers into the implementation of digital campaigns.

    I was responsible for working as the lead designer on a number of 4D’s key accounts, including Jaguar, Volvo and Rabobank. Working as part of a project team I was given ownership for the creative out put on all my accounts projects, ensuring the solutions produced met the user’s requirements and fully considered brand, design and budget integrity. From brand audit, to initial concepts, to detailed designs I was responsible for presenting my work and taking clients on the creative journey.

My main duties involved the strategic innovation in terms of the use and application of new technologies for online advertising revenue and corporate communication.

    My position: I was responsible for working as the lead designer on a number of freestyle’s key accounts, including General Motors, Chevrolet, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz and other automotive brands. Working as part of a project team I was given full ownership for the creative out put on all my accounts projects.

    My responsibilities included concept development, art direction, detailed designs and front-end coding; managing the execution of interactive projects and online promotions from conception through completion as well as ongoing maintenance, in order to deliver the results that fulfill and exceed client’s communication and marketing needs reporting effectively to stakeholders and throughout all levels of the organization.
