Ariadne's thread

This project was carried out for the “Student lighting design awards 2011”, the brief was to create products suitable for domestic environments which could be mass produced.

The light technology used was important, it had to enable optimum performance of the lamp.
Therefore I chose technology rarely used in lighting design, the electroluminescent cable, this technology adhered to the criteria, and brought more of a fun element than simple LEDs. It also allowed for the possibility for further creations.

The final object is designed to be made entirely by injection moulding and assembled by clipping together.
