XOREL EMBOSSED MAILER - This mailer was done to introduce a new embossed fabric - Xorel. The front and back covers of the mailer were done in a white, quiet treatment, with emphasis on a light play and touch. The front of the mailer was done by embossing the Xorel logo, the back was printed in white on white thermographic ink representing one of the patterns. Once opened, the mailer had a strong visual and tactile impact - black, laser cut paper was placed on top of a black swatch of fabric.
WALLCOVERING BROCHURE - Concept for this accordion fold wall covering brochure was derived from one of the most common fabric swatches arrangements - watefalling. Multi-colored variety of fabric swatches were photographed and carefully arranged into one continuous waterfall. Back of the brochure has a list of sales representatives with subtle coloration "waterfalling" from top to bottom under slight angles to mimic front swatches. This fold out does not have a front or back cover and can be opened from either end.
FLIP BOOKS - This reversible flip book was developed as a giveaway for one of the trade shows, where a new embroidered pattern was being introduced. Two of the most prominent patterns were shown being made stitch by stitch in the flip book. Cover has a raised thermographic ink logo, where letter forms are constructed out of stitches.
E-MAIL INVITE - This e-mail invitation is for a jewelry exhibition launching a new textiles collection. Colorful segments of jewelry designs come into focus as if through the jeweler's magnifying glass scattered on a black velvet background. They are complimented by super zoomed-in fabric patterns, creating jewelry like cipher while equating fabrics to precious gems. Flexible layout concept allows repositioning of the elements to accommodate various text amounts for invite, reminder, and follow ups.
COLLATERAL FOR CORPORATE EVENT - A set of marketing materials was developed to commemorate a 30 year anniversary between Carnegie and its Swiss partner creation Baumann. A tying ribbon was chosen to symbolize this event. A special package was developed for a set of Swiss chocolates, a graphic panel was inserted into a small shopping bag and an invitation to this corporate event were all laid out using the common graphics.
TATTOO NEWSPAPER - Tattoo Newspaper and set of temporary tattoos were done to introduce a new line of upholstery fabrics inspired by tattoo designs. Actual newspaper was laid out and produced as a small run for the upcoming trade show. Carnegie's tattoo designs were implemented in the layout elements as well as the main feature article. Newspaper design with its seemingly chaotic melee of fonts, sizes, and article grids was carefully studied and implemented in this project.
BOOK DESIGN - Book layout for "Urban Landscape" textiles collection. The visual pattern for this book is the contrast between busy urban patterns and vernacular tranquil landscapes. Inspirational images and textile patterns are juxtaposed on subsequent pages, creating harmonious chaos of "Urban Landscape".
GUI DESIGN / MARKET MAKER WINDOW - This complex UI (User Interface) called a Level 2 box (Market Maker window) was developed for a small order stock trading in the NASDAQ marketplace. Through enhanced use of spacial divisions and graphic logic, the trader has over 50 pieces of distinct classes of information. No identifiers are required, all the information becomes intuitive after an appropriate learning curve. In this way, the tool is uniquely professional and valuable space is condensed.
LOGOS - "Vaasa" is a promotional logo for the city of Vaasa in Finland. "Arthritis Alliance" is a logo developed for a medical practice specializing in rheumatology. "Sit" is a logo developed for the collection of upholstered cubes, distributed as a sitting structures. "Eastern Consultants" is a logo developed for an IT consulting firm. "exploration xorel" is a logo developed for a textile exhibition. "Trilogy" is a logo developed for the fabric collection made from renewable sources.
