Specialized Commuter Bike Concept 1 - This bike is meant to attract the first time bike commuter. Inviting forms and unique utilitarian features dissuade fears of bicycles. Riding position, adjustment for comfort, storage of bike and associated items, and security were all issues.
Specialized Commuter Bike Concept 2 - A structural foam filled roto-molded Nylon 6 frame creates a great base for customization. Fork and chainstay are both one sided with catilevered hubs. Nice fat balloon tires create confidence and a smooth ride. Integrated lights front and rear.
Specialized Commuter Bike Concept 3 - - EVERYTHING FOLDS. Handlebars and seatpost fold in. Rear wheel swings up, the front rotates around. This creates a cavity enclosed by the two wheels (each spoked on only one side) and the empty space in the frame. This storage space can be used to secure bags, tools and helmet. - SECURITY. There is a cable lock on a reel located at the front of the bike. Cable is taken out, wrapped around the frame, wheels, and bike rack. A handcuff-like closure provides closure.
