Outpost Kitchen on exhibition at NCAD Dublin - The Outpost Kitchen is a modular kitchen unit for offices and is aimed as a go between the desktop and the canteen. it eliminates the 'outpost' or ad-hoc kitchen that pop up on windowsills and desks in our workplaces.
Outpost Kitchen - The Outpost Kitchen is a modular kitchen unit for offices and is aimed as a go between the desktop and the canteen. it eliminates the 'outpost' or ad-hoc kitchen that pop up on windowsills and desks in our workplaces.
Some of its features - Pictured above are a few of the system's features. The Induction Tea Set is an attempt at making the office more environmentally pro-active as well as being convenient. The Bic-Biro Cutlery,Desktop Dining Booklet and Inbox/Outbox Fruitbox are all light-hearted attempts at promoting healthier office eating
One of many permutations
Fridge Cubes - One of our office kitchen concepts includes a refrigeration unit fitted with individual "fridge cubes". Its an attempt at persuading people to refrigerate their food without having to worry about someone stealing your elevenses!
Another permutation - This permutation illustrates the modularity of the unit. The boxes can house storage, shelving or Miele appliances , depending on the offices wants/needs. Seating arrangements can also be added.
Drawer Detail - We decided to go for a more organic shape for the drawer handle to contrast with the more linear/robust nature of the design. All plywood edges were left un-painted to enhance the form
Induction Drawer - Another one of our concepts for the unit was an Induction tea set. Seeing as the kettle is one of the more serious energy wasters, in the home as well as the office, we decided to provide a more environmentally friendly alternative. The induction pad allows users to make individual cups of tea/coffee in specially designed cups, wasting less energy and water.
