Bowl's Rocking Trajectory - This bowl is meant to enhance the user's dining experience and awareness through a subtle play on balance. Filling the bowl with food causes the bowl to balance in a standard, horizontal position. As the food is eaten, the bowl slowly rocks back towards the user, making the remaining food more accesible and marking the end of the meal.

Empty Bowl - This bowl is meant to enhance the user's dining experience and awareness through a subtle play on balance. Filling the bowl with food causes the bowl to balance in a standard, horizontal position. Design Development - In this series of sketch models I explored the concept of two vessels that needed one another to function. I identified the required properties of functioning vessels to be (un)structure, completion (or void) and (im)balance.
Original Concept - Originally designed as a family of bowls for serving paired foods, the physical form of the bowls were meant to enhance the idea of togetherness. I wanted to create two vessels that did not function without one another, and explored it initially through an assignment that required aluminum bowls that were manufactured by metal spinning.
