Caterpillar Chair - The caterpillar chair, borrows from Carlo Mollino the idea of creating dynamic, organic forms that reflect and complement the human body. A shaped wood form provides a stable base for this lounge chair; attached to it is a simple stock piece of metal, a flat bar, which allows for flexibility at the back support. This chair was my first investigation in the concurrent use of metal and wood and exploitation of their material properties. My Ribbon chair is the next stage of investigation.
