This stop motion animation was created using watermarks. It took me about 6 months to research the materials that would be best suited for making the marks that would eventually leave a watermark in each sheet.
The actual making of the paper took a lot less time (32 hours total). This short video was made as a test to work out all the kinks before hopefully launching into a much larger and more elaborate project which would be more deeply rooted in Book Arts, with a silent nod to the history and technique of hand paper making. The test was designed to explore the interrelationship between physical paper and the book structure, and the importance of both to our culture.
