Year 2 - 3D Pushchair Modelling Project

This term-long project focussed on the 3d modelling, design optimisation and resolved solution of an existing pushchair. The key focus was on the detail of the design, not on the aesthetic. Various tests using the CosmosWorks sofware add in for SolidWorks were implemented to test the frames Factor of Safety and overall Displacement. A careful selection of materials with a short justification for the Pushchair design was required, in order to improve the performance as well as to lower the costing for the manufacturing of the product.

Having modelled the pushchair in SolidWorks from scratch it was then saved as an STL, so that it could be imported into 3ds Max. A Daylight system was applied to the animation scene, Mental Ray materials were applied to all the pushchair components, and then rendered. The animation was edited and enhanced using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.
