A self-motivated individual who has always had a passion for design. This initial passion was artistic, however throughout the journey of education it has developed into a well-structured collection of processes. The knowledge obtained from higher education along with the placement year, has proven that I am capable of analysing procedures within activities and simplifying processes that are unnecessarily difficult. Having completed my final year of study on the BSc Product Design course with a first class honours degree, I am equipped with a creative mind, excellent communication abilities and the eagerness to learn new skills. I am actively looking for work opportunities within the Design Industry. Please feel free to leave a comment on my work.I am available to contact anytime, simply refer to my resume for the details. Thank you.

Established in December 2014, working as a freelance designer providing a client focussed service with an emphasis on the development of user specific products. Most recent successes involved creating 31 homeware gift products for the 2015 range, which were taken from the concept stage, 3D modelled & then specifications were drawn up for manufacturing.

  • Junior Product Design Intern

Two weeks trial work where work was completed on live projects within a small design consultancy during a busy time of the year (clients included Boots,Homebase & Dunelm Mill). Demonstration of using CAD software to create detailed solutions proved the competency, and created opportunity for the business to provide on going projects on a freelance basis.

  • Mechanical Design Intern

10 month placement working under the Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Fire R&D department. Role involved: designing sheet metal components, using CAD software to generate 3D and 2D, using a variety of industry recognised software packages (such as DraftSight, Corel DRAW, Radan, SAP and Bartender). Additionally, I was responsible for building prototypes & samples using external suppliers and in house facilities.

As a participant on the Eaton Cooper Intern Programme I was expected to present an ‘End of year review’ to the company MD’s and line managers. This was a final off site visit, based in the Eaton Cooper Bussmann site (Loughborough, Leicestershire). I made a positive impact on this day, professionally conducting a 20 minute presentation to 30+ line managers and MD’s that were based all around the UK Eaton Cooper sites.

This role has equipped me with: a comprehensive awareness of the processes involved to bring new products to market in the Fire & PAVA (Public Addressable Voice Alarm) sectors, improved team skills (working within a team of professionals to complete different tasks), improved communication skills (presenting and liaising with employees at all levels) and improved professionalism and work ethic.

  • Assistant Graphic Designer & Marketer

3 month placement graphic design placement, working under the Senior Marketing Manager to create print ready art work in the form of newspaper adverts, leaflets, menus, banners & bridal packaging.

This role has equipped me with a strong understanding of graphic design application.
