PROFILE:

A self-motivated individual who has always had a passion for design. By observing the variety of products around my environment, I came to the early realisation that I wanted a career in the Design Industry. For me, design represents who I am and if I am able to solve the problems which assist making people’s life easier, I have achieved my purpose.

Having finished studying the second year of Product Design at the University of Huddersfield in May 2012, I am equipped with a creative mind, an eye for detail, excellent people skills and the eagerness to learn new skills.

OBJECTIVE:

To achieve employment within the design industry and become a successful professional designer within the product/industrial or automotive fields.

Topics include: working with CAD software packages, stress and strain analyses, surface and solid modelling, prototyping, manufacturing and fabrication methods, ergonomics, anthropometrics, hand sketching/rendering, business/market
strategies and personal design projects.

Topics included: fine arts, graphics design, fashion & textile design, contextual
studies and photography.

EXPERIENCE:

Assistant Graphic Designer, Janan (Full time)

(June 2012 - August 2012)

This role involved: working with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create print-ready artwork which feature in weekly newspaper adverts, leaflet and magazine design, menu design for the in house cafe, bridal box packaging designs and assisting the main graphic designer with any other tasks.

This role has equipped me with a strong understanding of graphic design application.

Student Ambassador, University of Huddersfield (Part time)

(September 2011, October 2011 & June 2012)

Three separate events, where I was responsible for: dealing with a wide range of visitors at the Open Day, helping and chaperoning visitors around campus, working in a team to conduct campus tours to visitors interested to study at the University, problem solving techniques, answering queries and displaying a friendly demeanour.

This role has equipped me with strong communication and customer service skills.

INTERESTS & HOBBIES:

I have a strong interest for understanding different cultures, in particular I enjoy learning about Japan. One of my life goals is to travel to this country and experience the unique traditions. This goal would also benefit my design knowledge, as Japan is one of the countries known for it’s breakthroughs in technological developments.

Furthermore I enjoy involving myself with recreational activities, in particular basketball. This is a sport that I not only enjoy watching but actually playing, as it helps me learn co-ordination with others and constantly teaches me the importance of working as a team.
