In my artwork, I reflect on personal identity, on the multidimensional aspect of individuals and on the physical and mental layers covering them, such as the social, the cultural and the religious. Born in Lebanon in a family that came from Turkey by forced exile, I explore the matters of unstable geography, as well as cultural and religious identity. In my work, I often mix symbols traditionally belonging to different groups, diluting and undermining frontiers commonly set between religions and between cultures; a visual representation that I define as “Cultural and Religious Non-identity".
