The Stem Switch is a personal project that aims to add smart automation to any existing light socket, that is affordable and easy to install.
The Stem Switch plugs into any standard light socket, and fits a wide range of fittings and lamps. It uses motion and ambient light to manage the bulb, with its sensors mounted on a flexible stem that can be directed to monitor specific parts of a room. When ambient light is low the Stem Switch turns its bulb on when a person enters the room. After the set amount of inactivity, the bulb turns off.
The light sensitivity and timer are user adjustable, and accessible when the unit is installed.
