The Plumb Side Table was a project for a sustainable furniture design course. The objective was to create a piece of furniture that utilized waste materials.
PVC cutoffs from the plumbing industry are sometimes recycled, but often are discarded when recycling is not cost effective. These cutoffs are repurposed as legs for the Plumb Side Table. Scrap pieces leftover from the stone counter top industry were repurposed as tabletops.
Salvaged plywood scraps are used to interface between the center pillar and tabletop.
A pair of bolts fix the legs to the center pillar. This hardware was the only non-recycled material used for the project.
