This is the rendering of the proposed speculative home on King Avenue. This was a project that taught an understanding of Universal Design and Sustainable Design while working under a restrained budget.
Created in 3dCAD, this is a rendering to show the interior specifications and color palette.

BEFORE- Smith Bathroom Remodel
BEFORE - Smith Bathroom Remodel - Lack of storage for towels made this family hang wet towels behind the door - interfering with its operation, and a harboring place for mold.
BEFORE - Smith Bathroom Remodel - The linen closet at the end of this run of cabinets made the space seem tight and closed-in. The cabinets were also 25 years old and stood only 32" high. There was too much clutter on the countertop as well.
BEFORE- Smith Bathroom Remodel - Not a flattering photo, I realize, but this shows how cramped and closed-off this bathroom was - not very accessible for lesser-able-bodied people.
BEFORE - Smith Bathroom Remodel - The drop-in shower was old and just seemed dirty - the hard water was leaving a buildup on the surface - no matter how hard it was cleaned! This was rectified by installing a water softener for the family to enjoy.
AFTER - Smith Bath Remodel - Following a Country French aesthetic, this new bathroom feels lighter, freer, and cleaner. Mixed materials - brick pavers, granite countertops, and stone shower tiles, oak cabinetry - give this space an old-world feel while meeting the needs of the family through the life cycle.
AFTER- Smith Bath Remodel - Varying heights of these countertops serve the family well. The absence of the linen closet allowed for a seated vanity area. The drawer banks installed to either side of the sink make for easier access to toiletries and the such. This and the wall niches helped to de-clutter the area and make for a cleaner aesthetic.
AFTER - Smith Bath Remodel - This was the mirror from the previous bathroom - just painted and flipped! Also, love the Kohler sink!
AFTER- Smith Bath Remodel - Behind this rain-glass door and arched entry, there are natural stone floor tiles, and wall tiles that mimic the wood of an old barn. This shower just went from ordinary to a relaxing experience!
AFTER- Smith Bath Remodel - The loss of the linen closet meant the loss of a larger area for storage. However, this piece is the perfect alternative. Custom designed to hold towels and toiletries, this is an easy-access and eye-pleasing way to produce the maximum function with minimal use of space.

NICU Room Prototype - The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Athens Regional Medical Center is building a new rooming-in-room for the parents of the NICU patients. After careful consideration of the constrains and needs of the project, this is the floor plan we presented.
NICU Rooming-in-Room Prototype - Mimicking a modern American home, this plan featured an entry into the kitchen area, that is adjacent to the living space. We hope this would make the patients feel more in touch and at home during their stay.
NICU Rooming-in-Room Prototype - The bathroom involves an overflow tub, pebbled-shower floor, and smooth zebra wood vanity. We were hoping to provide a spa-like environment that would help the patients to wash away the stresses of the event.
NICU Rooming-in-Room Prototype - The bedroom area is the most private of all - a place where the mother and child have a chance to bond for the often short time thy are together. The textiles chosen here are to help support this gentle, intimate time.
NICU Rooming-in-Room Prototype - We wanted the patients to be able to keep in touch with the outside world during their stay at the hospital, so we included a computer station as well as a flatscreen television that would drop from the ceiling when ready for viewing.
Stephenson New Home Construction - This family is ready to relocate from the current home in Opelika, AL to the historic lakeside Eufaula, AL. I worked with their needs and created this floor plan. The area to the right is a loft that will be overlooking the living area.

BEFORE - Apartment Redecorate - This was my college apartment that I lived in while attending the University of Georgia. Keep clicking for my new treatment to the space!
AFTER- Apartment Redecorate - With a fresh coat of paint and a few accessories and furniture, this place was quite the comfortable pad! I wanted the television to be movable, so I placed it on this viewing station that could be moved about the space as needed.
AFTER- Apartment Redecorate - I collected new things and rummaged old farmhouses for older pieces to recycle. I also made the window treatments and painted the walls and trim work.
AFTER- Apartment Redecorate - This was my great-grandmother's rocking chair. Paired with modern pieces, this grouping is pleasing to the eye as well as functional for added guest seating.
AFTER- Apartment Remodel - I found the "Southern Charm" sign from a store in my mother's home town. When I was browsing the store one day, they were swapping this sign out with a newer one, so I bartered with the owner and brought home a little piece of my heritage! In this photo, I was waiting on concrete screws and a drill to get through the plaster wall to hang it.

AFTER - Apartment Redecorate - Bathroom - Since the color palette was a variety of colors, I decided to bring them all together with the extra paint from each room. I practiced my faux painting techniques with this one called "Colorblocking". You can see this wall from the other end of the apartment, so it was a show-stealer to all the guests.

Dunson Mantle - This client knew that something needed to change in her living area. The scale of her existing artwork over the mantle was dwarfed by stacked books and nick-knacks scattered on the surface. So we went shopping! We found modern forms, and I created a wreath that help to lift the eye and give contrast to the other elements.

Kella Stephenson Company Redecorate - This financial management company on music row in Nashville needed a lift. The walls were last painted in the 80s, and it was high-time for a "re-do". We chose a bright, fresh color palette, and also changed light fixtures, bought new furniture and hung more age-appropriate art work that fit the style of the company.
