Austin based startup which collaborates with designers to manufacture custom ping pong paddles. Initial responsibilities included overseeing improvements in manufacturing efficiency. Role expanded into maintaining the company's brand identity, which includes designing the packaging and retail experience of various models. Regularly present to potential vendors and partnerships to expand business development.

Freelance User Interface Designer - Product Design
d:e Creative, Austin, TX, 2013, (March-April)
Formerly known as Design Edge, I focused heavily on developing much of the user experience, mainly the user interface, for a mobile app, from creating wireframes to designing final elements. Strong emphasis on brand identity and strategy.

Industrial Design Intern - Product Design / Development
M3 Design, Round Rock, TX, 2012 (August-December)
Aided in the design process, from sketching to various forms of presentation quality rendering and model making for several projects for a variety of major clients. Assisted both designers and engineers on a variety of objectives. Provided many deliverables towards creation of a client’s design language guideline book. Client work includes: Emerson, Luminex, Stryker, Enflite.

Freelance Industrial Designer - Retail Design
The Carlson Group, Lombard, IL, 2012 (March-April)
Served as a design consultant in retail / point-of-purchase. Provided concept ideation and form development for a display setting / environment for a major client. Provided presentation quality renderings.

Industrial Design Intern - Furniture Design
LPK International, Northbrook, IL, 2011 (May-October)
Participated in concept generation for home furniture, from research to sketching to CAD, for various manufacturers. Examined consumer needs and trends to produce market driven research. Worked around demanding constraints of designing for specific price points. Client work includes: Value City Furniture, Rooms To Go, Canadian Tire.

Industrial Design Intern - Product Design
Beyond Design, Chicago, 2010 (May-August)
Aided in concept generation, from sketching to CAD, for several projects for a variety of major clients. Organized and participated in focus groups and brainstorming sessions. Assembled several multimedia presentations, including organizing expert interviews to develop Beyond's user research. Invited back to continue internship, totaling 4 school breaks over 1.5 years. Client work includes: Sunstar, Springs Window Fashions, Remington, Sunbeam, LG Electronics, Zebra Technologies, Polaris.

I was asked to join the UIC industrial design mentor program due to my continued desire to educate. I meet with students on campus or remotely and assist them with their portfolios including the portfolio content, layout and the design process more generally. I am the only mentor who is not an alumnus of UIC.
