I have recently completed my MDes in Interdisciplinary Design at Edinburgh Napier University. I have 3-4 years experience as a graphic designer, both in agency and freelance and have also worked as a lecturer of design during the last year. I also have an undergrad in Consumer Product Design. I am keen to find Full Time employment once my Masters is complete in August, I consider myself to be very versatile, with a wide range of skills across print, product, packaging and digital design.

Relevant Work Experience

Tsukuru (Jan 09 – ongoing)
Self employed / freelance designer working with clients and design agencies, mostly on print and branding design projects. Largely with local businesses and some large organisations such as The Living Room.

Edinburgh Napier University (Sep 09 – May 10)
Lecturer, in Semester 1 of the academic year I taught the new first year design students the adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver) basic design skills and ran projects. In Semester 2 I taught Visual Communications to third and fourth year Advertising and PR students, essentially running a branding / advertising design project I again taught the adobe suite, logo and print design and basic design skills.

DADA Events Ltd (Sep 08 – Dec 08)
Print and Online Designer, working on in house projects and client briefs, with clients such as News International and Whyte & Mackay. Left at the end of temporary contract.

Printing.com (Jan 07 – Sep 08)
Designer in a start up branch of the national print / design business I was responsible for all aspects of the process, from brief discussions, design, proofing to aftercare. Essentially filling the roles of both designer and account executive. I also completed a significant amount of networking and obtaining new clients.


Skills

Comfortable on Mac or PC, very experienced with the Adobe Suite, up to and including CS5, Macromedia Freehand, Rhino 3D, Enfocus Instant PDF, Flash Catalyst, Dreamweaver, MS Office and knowledge of Quark Xpress and 3D Studio Max.

The bulk of my experience has been in graphic design, predominantly print and identity work, though in the last year I have sought to develop my abilities in packaging and web design, as well as taking a keen interest in the research side of the creative process. I feel that my background in a number of different design disciplines helps to make a better designer and allows me to approach challenges in different ways.


About Me

I have a strong passion for the industry and design in general. I am in the process of completing my Masters Degree and have been considering where I want to go in the future.

I feel that I am at a stage that both professionally and personally I am in need of a new challenge in new surroundings. I am friendly, enthusiastic and not afraid of putting in the hours to meet deadlines. I would make a dedicated and committed employee and I believe the skills and experience that I would bring would allow me to become an important member of the team.

I am an outgoing individual and have numerous interests such as music, going to the gym, martial arts, football, formula one, gaming and technology.
