HALVERSON Seattle, WA Web: www.coroflot.com/shalverson EXPERIENCE DIRECT MAIL DESIGN Seattle, WA (Aug. 2008 – Present) ART DIRECTOR Concept, layout, design and produce catalogs, websites and marketing collateral for national retail clients. Collaborate with in-house photographers, production designers and Photoshop department to create high-quality printed pieces per each client’s needs. • Brought in first web clients by concepting and producing e-blast comps to enhance the client’s brand • Design and manage multiple, concurrent projects in different stages • Act as client liaison and work with vendors to achieve clients' goals WEISSMAN DESIGNS FOR DANCE St. Louis, MO (Dec. 2005 – June 2008) ART DIRECTOR Creative lead responsible for design and execution of catalogs, websites and marketing collateral for a national dancewear apparel and costume manufacturer. Collaborated with IT, Product Development, Apparel Design and Marketing departments to create professional and engaging visual designs and brand assets for a variety of online and print communications. • Revitalized and refined brand identities for six apparel lines • Supervised, trained and provided art direction for junior designer • Designed and produced five catalogs, 36 e-blasts, and various print ads per year • Redesigned three websites to enhance appearance and ease of use; managed multiple “refreshes” for each site throughout the year, coinciding with catalog drops • Represented the design team at all photo shoots in order to oversee image quality, direct photo composition for best representation of product • Acted as point person for pre-press house, approving all color and retouching • Performed image retouching for web-based materials SOSLAND PUBLISHING COMPANY Kansas City, MO (June 2003 – Dec. 2005) ART DIRECTOR Designed and produced World Grain magazine. Created graphics, aquired and manipulated photos and collaborated with the editorial department. Also designed features for alternating, bi-weekly publications, Milling & Baking News and Food Business News. Acting art director of Baking & Snack magazine and its quarterly counterpart, Baking & Snack International for two-month period while maintaining aforementioned regular responsibilities. • Redesigned World Grain and established the design for Food Business News • Produced five annual supplements • Commissioned illustrations and directed photo shoots • Created original, relevant artwork and info-graphics for each publication TOWNSEND PUBLISHING Kansas City, MO (Sept. 2002 – June 2003) GRAPHIC DESIGNER Produced seven annually published college-related publications. Duties included design, ad placement and production. FREELANCE • Originated branding for NFL player’s charitable organization • Collaborate with Product Development of Apparel Design to create screen print designs and heat transfer graphics for a national dancewear retailer.
