Concept Development - American Greetings in Store (AGI) sponsored my studio in the fall of 2007. The goal of their project was to redesign a postal dropbox for UPS that would be welcomed by most Home Owners’ Associations, as well as eliminate the risk of theft due to the high street value for the materials used. My concept was an indoor dropbox designed to replace the existing dropbox. Here are some sketches of that concept along with some of my other ones.
Final Model - The final concept would replace the expensive stainless steel dropbox in high traffic indoor locations such as lobbies of large companies. Made of injection molded plastic, my design would save the company over $3,500 in manufacturing fees for a single dropbox. It would also cut down distribution costs.
