Why do we record daily life by making photos and recording video while not frequently making audio recordings? Audio recordings can be very valuable to remember the past. By doing research this Project uncovered the knowledge that most of the sounds that are remembered are sounds that were not in sight (For example, your parents walking up and down the stairs while being in your room). From doing multiple small tests I eventually designed a smartphone application which the user uses to record location based audio. Because the audio is collected in time and on different locations, the user is able to scroll back in time and listen to audio once recorded while the context has changed, letting the user remember what the past was like. After finishing this Project I continued working on this concept together with the design company called "Ministerie van Nieuwe Dingen". Unfortunately we stopped looking for ways to get the application on the market.
