Master of Science in Industrial Design - specialized in User...
I had - and keep having - the everlasting urge to come up with functional solutions to problems and create new opportunities by designing products and services. In 2006 I chose to further develop my creative skills by studying Industrial Design at the University of Technology in Eindhoven.
The study Industrial Design I finished within the 5 years which are set for this study (including both Bachelor and Master). Next to these 5 years of studying I made sure to get extra work experience by doing two internships of each 1 semester, within the field of design.
I like to look at what the world could be like if we question conventions. The main reason I design is to encounter, but also to provide, new experiences, as well as to understand how to mix functionality and product interaction for a better quality of life; fostering the new experience.

Working on Ricoh's future concepts together with an international team of designers. For example, Ricoh's Theta 360 degrees camera.
Part-time job as demonstration specialist - informing and getting customers to experience new designs by Bose electronics.
Designed Unithings to give students the opportunity to sell materials, which were used for prototypes, exhibitions or other purposes, to other students. This allows materials to be recycled and to be accessed more easily by other students.
Trainee as Industrial Designer, developing one specific concept by combining different existing patents into new design. This means working on the whole design process from idea to actual product.
Design "a simple hand-operated mechanism to deposit any variety of dry 'drink mix' into the water, before the consumer has even opened the bottle." Together with a fellow designer I was placed in the final six.
General award winner of Konica Minolta its international design competition. Together with a fellow designer I showed Konica Minolta, by the use of an actual prototype and visualizations, what future possibilities OLED (organic LED) has to offer.

Placed 3rd, along with fellow students of international design, in an online competition. The objective was to design an embedded camera support, to avoid having to carry loose supports.
In the 1st Year of my Master I chose to do a research Project working together with Philips. At the High Tech Campus I did multiple tests to understand what mattress would be the most comfortable to use for baby monitoring. By using Matlab I was able to do different analysises to state which combinations of memory foam would be applicable to monitor comfort within a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Selected to create an interactive light installation at the Dutch Design District (area 751) in Beijing. Collaborated with 6 Chinese students from Tsingua University.
Designed a new packaging method for UPS Benelux, so that its clothing retailers are able to transport clothing wrinkle-free. 1 of 4 finalists in competition.
Selected, as part of team of 6 Dutch designers, to design an interactive light installation in the museum “de Santa Maria Della Scala”. This installation allowed the audience to experience the pilgrimage that passes the old hospital. The Dutch team worked on this project with 6 students from the Department of Communication Sciences of the University of Siena.
Designed products for “Innovation in a Week” 2010 and 2011, a week in which a selected group of students apply patented materials to new products.
Developed a design from a university Project. This Project was being developed by Metaplus to get on the market. Programmed the games, designed the look, and tested the design with children.
Cared for turtle population in Yucatan, Mexico.
Catering at different parties/companies throughout the Netherlands (E.g. Paleis’t Loo, Amsterdam Arena, SAIL 2005, ABN Tennis Tournament).
