An Alternative High School in Portland - The approach to the design of this site was a desire to create not only a school, but a community face to a Portland neighborhood that lacks identity. The site begins to integrate levels of community; the greater Portland community, the local neighborhood, the communal relationship with the adjacent school and the students in the new school. The designed school becomes the form for the community inside the school. The school opens itself up to the city of Portland, with views of the city.
