High fashion hits the high seas.Yacht Couture, is targeted towards the wealthy and their obsession with expedition yachting and antarctic exploration. These are women who wear couture in manhattan, and don't want to change just to watch penguins. Inspired by couture sportswear and very uncouture boating wear, this collection is a tongue-in-cheek take on elite culture and fashion.
Collection includes fur life vest, Neoprene dresses and a silver reflective bikini. Clever use of waterproof, technical and reflective fabrics are combined with with sail cloth, boating fasteners and gigantic battleship gray colored plastic zippers (they float). Safety orange accents throughout include floatation devices
as fashionable accessories. A purse converts into a “POSH” windbreaker jacket in case the weather suddenly gets foul. Another converts into a bodysuit with the words “SAVE ME FIRST” printed on it as preparation for a Titanic emergency.
