Ethicon Endo-Surgery internship - Cincinnati, OH (June 2011 - September - 2011): Work was done to address the human factors and understandability associated with surgical devices. Job duties included organic modeling of existing devices to better fit the hand, prototyping concepts, and sketching mechanical concepts of the engineers to put them in visual form to submit for patents.
General Electric internship - Louisville KY (June 2010 - May - 2011): Working with various aspects of larger projects, mainly involving refrigerators. Work was done for consumer research, model building, and sketching and CAD modeling of both interior and exterior refrigerator components. I was the exclusive designer on smaller projects consisting of refrigerators and water heaters and took the lead role in communicating with vendors and model makers for prototyping.
The Andersons internship - on campus (Oct. 2009 - Jan. 2010): Part of a team of designers that were responsible for ideation, fabrication, and testing of prototype fertilizer spreader parts.
Child education center - Louisville, KY: Cleaning of cafeteria and helping to distribute food to children
Habitat for Humanity - Cincinnati, OH: Initial cleaning of houses and prep for restoration. Removing trash, cleaning walls, and assisting in supplying crews with resources such as lighting, trash bags, and water.
