Confluence a sustainable restaurant concept based on the California Delta Region - The building had before our project the appearance of successive layers of time and space. Our intention was to take part in this process.
For the interior space we wanted to bridge the gap between deconstruction and construction in order to reduce the waste stream. We accomplished this by using local artisans, minimal demolition and the use of antique salvaged materials. Confluence reflects a reverence for the past and a passion for living simply, nothing stuffy but rather openly elegant.
