A screenshot of the Start Screen.
A screenshot of the Main Menu. Buttons that have no functionality are grayed out. From the menu, you can access Sector Select.
This is Sector Select, which is akin to World Select in many other games. You can choose a Sector to access the levels within, or return to the Main Menu.
A screenshot of the Level Selection Screen, and in this case, specifically for the Alpha Sector. Each of the levels is represented by one of these space stations. The space stations rotate in a random direction at random speeds. They gain a red tint when hovered over. Each level has the lowercase greek value of their sector followed by its ordered number. We start at 0 because Grobo is a programmed machine, and machines and programmers begin counting from 0. This Sector only has 12 levels (0-11), but should there be more, the player can scroll further down via mouse wheel or touch and drag to access even more levels. In the upper left corner is also a back button to return to Sector Select. These space station assets were borrowed from MillionthVector, who has open sourced these sprites under CC.
Clicking on one of the space stations brings up the Level Info box. Each level has certain info associated with it, which are Name, Best Shift Score, and Best TIme Score. Scores display as "-" if one has not yet been obtained. From the Level Info box, the player can play the level with the "Play" button or close it with the back button in the upper right corner.
The first level of g.R0b0 is Sector Alpha, Level 0, "Start Simple". It is very simple and lacks any kinds of threat. As the first level into the game, it is meant to teach the player about how to manipulate gravity and move around. The entrance gate has a soft green glow behind it and the victory gate has a soft red glow behind it. Both were made with a particle system within Unity.
A screenshot the Pause Menu. Pressing 'ESC' or 'P' brings up the Pause Menu which lets the player restart the level in case they get stuck, access settings, return to level select, and also exit to the main menu.
When the player wins a level, there is a little victory sequence that occurs. A retro victory sound plays and then Grobo explodes. The sound is from Freesound.org and the explosion is from the Unity Asset store.
When victory is achieved, an overlaid Victory Menu pops up. This shows the player their two scores, which are the number of Gravity Shifts they required to win the level and the total time they took to solve the puzzle. It also indicates if the player earned a new high score! The lower both values are, the better. From here, the player can play the level again, return to Level Select, or go on to the Next Level. In the event that the next level is the last level, this would return the player to the Main Menu as seen towards the end of the updated gameplay video.
The Level Info updates whenever you earn your first score for the level, or your high score!
A screenshot of Level 11, the 12th and final level of the Alpha Sector. There are several hazards here. The spiky balls are exactly that, spike balls. Walking or falling into any spike ball will immediately kill Grobo. The floor spikes are a unique variation of typical floor spikes to account for the game's main mechanic, gravity. Grobo only dies if he "falls" on top of a floor spike. In other words, Grobo can walk by them without being hurt and fly by them without being hurt. Floor spikes only appear armed when the direction of gravity is going into them. In this case, all of the downward facing spikes are armed because gravity is going up.
Not an actual level of g.R0b0, but a test level to display new mechanics. Those new mechanics are: -Steel Crates - These crates move around with gravity and are heavy, so be careful not to be crushed by one! -Lasers - These fire periodically and touching one will kill Grobo. -Magnetic Plates - These have a lot of neat tricks, including stopping gravitational movement when standing on one and slowing Grobo down when near one. They can also trap Steel Crates on them, turning the crate essentially into a Floor Tile, but it also means that you can no longer use that Magnetic Plate. -Force Fields - These bright bridges block passage using a single type of movement whether that be walking or falling/gravity shifting. Orange blocks walking and Green blocks falling/gravity shifting.

g.R0b0

g.R0b0 is a 2D puzzle game focused around the mechanic of gravity. You play as a little robot, Grobo, who's only goal is to get to the exit gate from wherever you're spawned. You have the power to change the direction of gravity (only when on the ground) and have to avoid obstacles to reach your destination.
g.R0b0 is an ongoing project as part of Project g.R0b0. This is the second iteration. It currently has the first 12 levels completed, or in other words the first Sector, Alpha (think of a world in most other level-based puzzle games). It also has the structure to support more sectors and includes new mechanics not in Alpha Sector.
It is made using Unity. It is currently built for PC, but designed and planned to be constructed for Android and iOS.
