Single Family House

U n i v e r s i t y P r o j e c t

The orientation and the form of the house respond to the environment conditions. Similar to a natural creature, the terraced structure follows the curves of the terrain. The abundant use of glass on the south façade lets the natural light in, while the wide slopes of the pitched roof protect the internal space from the direct summer sun rays and create shadow outside on the terrace. The natural materials such as timber and stone contribute to the comfortable and pleasant inner environment.

The main entrance is on the north façade, next to the garage and leads to a dining room. Several steps connect the dining room and the spacious living room. The prime bedroom is on the ground level, behind the living room, facing east. Two bedrooms with a terrace facing west and a lounge area overlooking the living room are located on the second level. The house has a direct access to the terrace through the glazed sliding doors on the south façade.
