Krisztián Szántói is a Hungarian illustrator and cartoonist. I was born in 1975. I am drawing and enjoy life.
I was born in 1975 in Pecs, Hungary. I graduated from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest (MOME) visual communications department in 1998. I am a member of the National Association of Hungarian Artists. Ever since I graduated I continuously illustrate magazines and juvenile books.
There are different directions and technical solutions within illustration. The illustrator can select out of these according to their aptitude.I try to follow the mood of the writing, and get to know the most about the age when the plot takes place. I like to draw in an intuitive, instinctive way, this is how I am at my best. There is no draft, no pre-drawing, developing. It is either a success or not although I have to get into the mood both in spirit and in emotions. This is how the drawing gets fresh, sensitive, temperamental. It always differs what an artist finds important or characteristic in a given theme, and what is to be left out, and how to simplify and stylize. I like the hand-made, expressive, grotesque drawings.
