This portfolio was designed and constructed in 2001. The process encapusulated many of the facets of my experience as an artist and designer: sketching; metalsmithing; woodworking; technical drafting; architectural CAD; 3D modeling & visualization. Sapele wood panels prepared by artist & craftsman Thomas Schrunk of Minneapolis. Joe Mamer prepared the wood components. Laser-cutting of the panels was done by the Woodcrafters Guild in the Twin Cities. 24 portfolios in total were produced.
Design evolution, ranging from conceptual sketches, CAD modeling & technical documentation, 3D visualization, prototype mock-ups, to final product.
Process: technical drawings were prepared to resolve issues with the hinge and metal armatures.
Design development through computer visualization.
Final 3D renderings & Quicktime VR interactive animation were prepared before actual farication.
