Project's avatar for social networks
Blog's front page, with the Twenty Eleven template. My contractor, Ikala, did not have budget for a website, so I created this small blog in WordPress with information on "Mi comuna, la mejor escuela"
This project had 5 printed bulletins as goals for the communications area but, as I said before, did not have any budget approved for anything... I was concerned on the lot of difficulties we had to surpass to get things done, so the bulletins were solved using Mailchimp, and a database with under two-thousand people to deliver it to in the Comuna 6. This was the first bulletin produced from about nine, exceeding the initial goal.
There were so many imprecised aspects on this project, from contracts, to duties, to payments, and one of them was an educational book supposedly based on "Mi comuna, la mejor escuela", but with no orientation at all on the sort of topics to treat... I must admit I got with bitterness the order to write it (apart from the logical argument of producing it), because there was no clear pensum at all and no contents to start from... But, to resume, lets just say I got it solved somehow, and this was the original artwork I designed for the cover of the book (work side).
This was the original turn side of the educational book I wrote and produced. Work and turn were created by me, in as well as the layout for the book, based on instructions from the Alcaldía de Medellín's communications area.
This was the first banner I produced for display at the "Mi comuna, la mejor escuela" classrooms... It was based on a confusing branding manual my colleagues at the Alcaldía de Medellín lend to me. Even when I followed the guidelines, this artwork was not approved and had to create another one with much clearer instructions.
This was the second and final banner I produced for the "Mi comuna, la mejor escuela" classrooms. Actually, I produced three others that look quite the same, but with different branding colors. Dimensions: 1 x 1.5 meters.

An invitation for the big final event I managed on "Mi comuna, la mejor escuela". Again, based on style guidelines from the Alcaldía de Medellín.
Certificates I designed for the "Mi comuna, la mejor escuela" project , based on the Alcaldía de Medellín's corporate identity manual.
Badges I created for the "Mi comuna, la mejor escuela" before they (the Alcaldía de Medellín) could lend me their identity manual… Makes me remember the whole bunch of people I had to chase, in no time, to get things done… No wonder why everything seems to have little graphic correspondence.

"Mi comuna, la mejor escuela" educational project

I was hired by Ikala, a contractor for social development in Medellín, to run an educational project in the commonalty of Doce de Octubre (comuna 6).

I was supposedly hired part-time to just do communications but instead I ran almost everything up full-time, from graphic design to workshop logistics, reports, operational meetings with the Alcaldía de Medellín, budgeting, and leaders from the comuna 6, public relations, and the big final event with the community.
