On The Homefront - On The Homefront covers the World War II period and what occurred away from the frontline. As many able bodied men were enlisted into the military, women became a major factor within the workforce to produce war material, as well as efforts lead in the home to conserve food, energy and other goods. Inspiration came from ration books acquired at a rummage sale and were incorporated into the site. Images are courtesy of the Library of Congress.
