Dizzy side table

‘Dizzy’ was inspired by Vicky’s personal holidays in this case Skiing in France with the snowy mountains. As the snow begins to melt sections of rocks, trees and roots begin to be exposed. Vicky chose to combine glossy plastic with characterised brown Oak to add a contrast in colour, texture and warmth.

The unusual and irregular shape was created using a wire frame and a vacuum former. The material created the overall shape its self as the frame gets stretched through the plastic.

Vicky used locally grown wood to cut down on her carbon footprint and to support local businesses. She also designed the side table around the idea that the vacuum formed panels, would be left as a whole with the vacuum formed frame edge. This was to cut down on the making time and therefore producing no waste. Dizzy is an unusual and unique side table solution.
