Work History

“A PRODUCT & LIFESTYLE ACCESSORY DESIGNER WITH 14 YEARS OF DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE” PROFESSIONAL AREAS OF WORK: • Worked in the following areas- 1. FURNITURE & PRODUCT design- furniture design, consumer electronics, electrical and electronic goods, automobile accessories etc. 2. TRAVEL goods design- soft and hard luggage’s like strolley cases, business cases, laptop Bags, Suitcases, Backpacks and kids bags. 3. COMMUNICATION design- brand identity design, marketing collaterals design, web design and product interface design. 4. FASHION and Accessory Design- uniform design, T shirt design, clothing design, handbags and valets design. 5. LIFESTYLE product design- desktop products, gift products, lampshades, bathroom accessories. ACHIEVEMENTS: • Successfully re-launched BUDDY brand of kids school bags for VIP industries with more than 10 design and 48 SKUs at a time • 30+ products designed and launched in the market. • BEST STUDENT award in 1992 EDUCATION: 1. The Supreme Industries Ltd.(Pune/Mumbai):April 2014-Till date Designation-Head (Product Design) Profile- Established a ‘Design & Development center’ of India’s largest and oldest brand ‘Supreme’. The work involved looking for a place for the office till buying machines, hiring people etc. The design activities involved Design educating the system, designing, prototyping and strategizing for the ‘Plastic Molded Furniture and Bathroom fittings’. Managing day-to-day design activities and co-coordinating with marketing and vendor development team. Responsible for new product development and refurbishing old furniture products. Creating differentiation through innovation is always an ongoing activity. 2. IIDENRT Design (Pune): Nov 2011-Aug 2013 Designation -Co-Founder Profile- Designing, marketing, prototyping and execution of various products in engineering goods, consumer products, white goods, travel gear, lifestyle products,branding and communication etc. Managing all the design studio activities including handling clients, design presentations,co-ordinating with engineers, entertaining visitors and trainees. Working as university Design jury and a visiting faculty for B.Des course. 3. OKAKA Lifestyle (Pune): Feb2010-till date (work in progress) Designation-Founder Profile - Run a Brand .designing, marketing, manufacturing and selling of lifestyle products to various market segments. Deriving inspirations from ’Rural and Urban Maharashtra’ and converting the obsolete products into contemporary lifestyle products. Activities involved are doing research, study history, visiting places, redefining the old products, designing, co-coordinating with vendors to supplying to various market segments. 4. Safari Industries Ltd. (Mumbai): Nov2011- Dec12 Designation- Design consultant Profile- Designing of various soft Luggages for Safari Brand like Strolley cases and suitcases. supervising prototyping in china till PP. Designing brief, market research, competitors study, conceptualization, making working drawings and coordinating with vendors in China till the production starts. 5. VIP Industries Ltd. (Mumbai): Nov 2004- July 11 Designation- Manager (Design) Profile- Design and Development of various types of Luggages like Office Bags, Travel bags, Laptop Bags, Backpacks, school bags etc. doing design research, conceptualization, prototyping and execution till pre-production samples. Looked after designing and co-coordinating of product graphics, marketing collaterals and also given directions for photography. Launched around 25 Different products in the market successfully. Vast experience of handling sampling process in China and India till the PP samples. Designed for brands like VIP, FOOTLOOSE, SKYBAGS, CARLTON (UK), ALFA, ARISTOCRAT. 6. BPL Telecom (Bangalore): July 2003- May 2004 Designation – Assistant manager (Design) Profile- designing of various product categories like consumer electronics, white goods, automobile accessories, FMCG etc. Ideation, conceptualization, preparing pitching projects presentations and co coordinating with engineering teams. ACADEMIC PROJETCS: • Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (Final Year Project)-Designing and prototyping for an ticket vending machine for Indian Railways. • Baby stroller (Mini Project)-Designed an Economic Bamboo Baby stroller for multipurpose functionality.
