The Tangible Calendar is an untraditional monthly calendar that creates original patterns based on the ways an individual chooses to display his or her schedule. These patterns are created by the interaction of three different hand-knit cords with the stamped sheet-metal base, as well as the personal items the user chooses to contribute to the piece. The calendar becomes an ever-changing abstract expression of user experiences.
These original paintings explore the use of pattern to represent the passing of time, and were instrumental in the development of my final calendar project.
