This campaign normally uses white background with silo products (because the client have always wanted it this way). I introduced a more "dramatic" cover by using very dark grayish lighting in the background. I wanted the products and the model usage to be more "realistic" in terms of use and the emotions tied from "receiving gifts". With dramatic lighting, customers are more apt to focus what the "model" or "staff" is holding, and how's she reacting with the products she received.
Totes, bags, and lunch bags are best-selling products in this catalog. So I wrote a fun header" Thanks. It's In The Bag" and art directed a fun stacked photo of bags against a simple blue background. This was a fun and different way to target the educational market.
A fun way to show drink ware in a catalog. I came up with the idea, art directed the design and brainstormed products with a senior marketing manager.
The idea of the cover is that Housekeepers in hotel industries are known to keep everything sanitary, clean and white. So I incorporated products against a white curtain, white marble table with a simple white vase on the left.—arrangement of products against the background made it stand out more. It was an "homage" to the targeted audience.
