Melt Lamp - 2008 Recycled Fishing Net Lamp Shade

Concept product developed for the Carpentaria Ghost Net Program. The aim was to develop a product or series of products that could be locally manufactured, using basic techniques, by the local community. The products were to move away from ‘craft’ based techniques, instead using simple manufacturing methods resulting in designed objects that could be marketed under the “Ghost Net Gear” label.

Waratah Vase - 2007 Glazed, Slip Cast Ceramic Vase

The Waratah is a beautiful Australian native flower with larger, full red flowers. The size and shape of the Waratah makes them very top heavy. To address this issue the Waratah Vase is an unconventional bowl shape allowing for the flower head to be displayed in its full glory. The vase is designed to be displayed as a table centerpiece. The Waratahs form is also echoed on the outside of the vase in soft curving ridges.
