Ideation - Began with a mounted seating style of a Jet Ski, and progressively shaped the cart's design as well as it's interactive components.
My initial cart concept was to hold 6 people in two rows, but the form came out too bulky.
Running with the theme of Black Cat Fireworks I began surfacing the front to mimic a cat's face and giving the cart a thinner profile by changing the cart to a 4 person ride.
3D Development - The next task was to connect the cart to a track of some sort.
Initial development of the seats and the Over-The-Shoulder-Restraint systems began.
For the back side I wanted to incorporate a rocket-shaped element. This ride uses Linear Induction Motors which launch the cart extremely quickly to high speeds; creating the feeling of a rocket ride.
3D Development - A 3-Wheeled system was designed to stealthy keep the cart to appear it is flying along the track.
Seat padding and O.T.S.R's were developed further.
The front surface was given cat-like elements including whiskers and eyes.

Seat storage systems were added to ensure property safety.

Made some modifications to the rocket elements to make them more feasible.
3D Development - Mirrors, video cameras, interactive screens and handle bars with camera toggling buttons were added.
Decided on a two track- racing-themed ride
Each rider has their own interactive screen allowing them to view their race position as well as other riders.
At the end of the ride, the rider's have the opportunity to purchase a video of their Black Cat experience.
3D Development - Removed whiskers to enhance sleekness of the front surface
Retractable foot enclosures were installed for rider safety.

Final Concept - "Black Cat" is an interactive, themed, thrilling roller coaster concept. A sturdy steel frame provides versatility allowing for a record-breaking drop of over 400 feet at speeds over 120 mph! The Linear Induction Motor propulsion system gives the rocket its launching power. Magnetic breaking systems proved frictionless power that reduce speed proportional to the rate at which the cart is traveling. Each cart has self storage seating, interactive video screens and explosive sound effects.
