The team were presented with a sample for a simple pocket light (identical to image shown) with a custom shaped COB LED. I was tasked with creating a custom shape for a low cost pocket light.
Initial concepts pointed the team toward using this product as a way for Matco Tools to own the hexagon shape in their products and making the COB in the shape of their eagle logo.

Proportions changed slightly but design intent retained. Colors were mocked up for approval.

Internals of Matco Pocket Light changed significantly to include a laser and magnet added to pocket clip. Pocket clip aesthetic requested by project manager at Snap-on. One of the easiest lighting sales for truck owners at $20 each with the Snap-on name, Sold exceptionally well with rave reviews of durability. Later a rechargeable version was added to the catalog to further differentiate product from Matco Pocket Light.
