Hi, I'm a 28 years old Mexican Girl looking for an Internship in Europe.
So my story starts in Ensenada Mexico where I was born into a lovely family.
At the young age of 4 months old, I moved with my family to Port Jefferson, New York, USA in order for my dad to do his Ph.D. I realized from a very young age that there is a diversity of cultures and that crossing the comfort zone is a step to accomplish in order to grow.
As a daughter of an Engineer, my logic and math skills were not bad at all, so I pursue a career as a Bachelor in Engineer in Interactive Technology and Digital Animation, because I didn't just want to do 3D animation, I wanted to create the tool to develop new technology for 3D Animation. I then moved to near the center of Mexico to a state called Puebla.
Later on, I realized I didn't find 3D Animation my passion, but programming and developing interactive tools.
At college, I worked as a volunteer in the Community Service department creating a Video Game for ADHD kids in order for them to help their writing-reading process in school. This project brought me the incredible satisfaction of helping someone, so I stayed there for 2.5 years and developed 2 papers.
Also, I liked leader roles, so I became president of the Student Council of my career in school for 1.5 years, until I graduated.
For my internship and my first job, I became Jr. Software Developer in EDIS Interactive. Later I started working at INAOE ( National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics), a public Research Institute where I joined the Computer Vision Laboratory which developed projects for external clients combining Research, Technology and applied science.
I started as a Front-End Developer in 1 project, but quickly found I could do so much more. Using my abilities in video editing, English knowledge, and innovative mind I teamed up with another co-worker to open the department of Interactive Technology where we focused on developing VR simulators, AR projects, and more User-Centred projects.
Never have I ever stopped searching for Masters in this entire time, however, I was not convinced what path to follow until I found the master of EIT Digital in Human-Computer Interaction Design, where it combines User-Centred Design approach, human aspects (cognitive, aesthetic and sensory-motor level) and business aspects.
So I applied and joined a 2-year program in 2 countries in a pandemic year. Didn't know what to expect, however, I was determined to succeed in my future career by going to the unknown.
This year I finish my 1st year of studies at the magnificent University of Twente in the Netherlands, where I learned so much, and made me improve day by day. And now doing my 2nd-year master in Paris Saclay in France, where I'm looking further to my development in doing an Internship with a thesis based in Europe.
