LOCATION: Boulder, CO
PROJECT: Develop a Master Plan for the Growing Gardens property. This plan including wayfinding for the site and building structures to support the mission of the community gardens.
Skills Learned: This was the first Studio where I worked with a partner and I was able to learn how to design without losing the integrity of my design but also allowing two creative forces to make one stronger project. One part of this studio was exploring rammed earth and we gathered diferent soil samples and tested them and incorperated rammed earth as a building system.
Design Approch: We worked on the site planting weeding and haresting to get a hands on experience of how they currently work as a non-profit organization and ways to improve circulation. Phasing was a big aspect of our design. We focused on smaler buildings that can be connected once the funds are ready to build the next step.
