South Elevation
The majority of the house was layered concrete poured with cold joints. The 12 inch thick wall is comprised of six inches of reinforced with rebar which was thermally broken with 3inches of ridged insolation then finished with three inch of concrete veneer.

The three bedrooms have pop-out sitting areas. This is a detail picture that shows the limited material pallet of The Raine House. The cladded pop-out with the windows contrasted with the layered concrete balance each other out.
This is an exterior shot of the master bedroom's pop-out sitting area. The cladding pattern interlocked at the corners like a zipper.
The layered concrete walls used site sand so the house fits into the landscape.
With the east facing entrance we were able to incorporate the traditional east entrance in the Navajo hogon into the design for The Raine House.
