Multi-Story/Multi-Purpose Design

The client is a local developer who has purchased an existing building on Canal Street in the Susan B. Anthony District of Rochester, New York. This historical area will serve as inspiration for the interior of the proposed project. The project will be an adaptive reuse of the old industrial building and be transformed into a multi-purpose building, including commercial tenant spaces, a public fitness center, a coffee shop, and apartments. The apartments will be a comfortable size to accommodate residents, and the entire building will be handicap accessible. The design keeps ADA standards seamless within the building and within regulated building codes. Accessibility is an important factor in a commercial environment and should be treated as such for each inhabitant of the space. Security, acoustics, privacy, and pet-friendliness will also be fully addressed, and systems will be implemented to ensure that residents feel at home.
