  • I like your lighting over your sketchbook. I have two questions, 1 what kind of bulb are you using, and 2 are these camera phone pics.

  • thanks orlando. these were actually lit with standard CFL, so i had to fake it with photoshop. i painted a pure white page on top of the photo, then pasted scans of the sketches.

  • Great sketches. I noticed that the background for each sketch is the same. Did you scan this sketch, then use Photoshop to create a perspective and place it on this sketchbook? If not, then you are a very skillful photographer.

  • thanks guys. the original lighting was terrible, so I inserted the scans into this 'frame' with good ol' Photoshop

  • You have a great sketching style. Do you really draw in your sketchbook with the spine of the book on the right hand side? I might have to start doing that to throw people off.

  • this is new territory for me, i started after comic con last year. i remember the advanced perspective class we took, the instructor kept wanting me to put more people in the sketches. so i did, but they were hideous :) you however, had some good skills!

  • Thanks, Stephen. These were actually done on loose pages of printer paper. I photoshopped them into my sketchbook to spice up the presentation.
