The first design, drawing on the floral notes of the brand name "Iris."
The second version, skewing the concept more towards the "eye" literal meaning of "Iris," while still incorporating some of the floral elements of the original design.
IRIS logo concept
A machine learning and scanning company was looking for a logo concept and expressed interest with incorporating the Tennessee state flower, since it was their namesake, but also wanting something modern. I went with a minimalist approach, given they were more of a tech company, while drawing inspiration from Japanese family crests. They have an elegance and self-contained look that I felt lent itself well to the project. The client later decided they wanted to go more with an "eye" concept instead, as shown with the second design.
