I make things pretty. Around my home and in my garden, as well as on photo shoots and within magazine spreads.
In my dual role as both editor and art director, I blend creativity and practicality by conceptualizing, planning, executing, and managing the moving parts of a monthly publication’s production process while also staging and styling on-location and in-studio shoots with an elevated design aesthetic. I have a sharp eye when pulling products and scouting photography locations.
As a former competitive roller-derby skater, I like to be in the action. I thrive in moments of on-the-spot decision making and collaboration. I have learned how to blend advance planning with improvisation to allow the organic momentum of teamwork to spark new ideas and directions.
In addition to more than 15 years of directing shoots, I’ve also developed highly regarded Photoshop skills. I make imperfect situations look flawless. A missing section of balcony railing at a newly constructed condo magically fills in once I edit the image.
From art to editorial, I have my hands in all stages of the publication process. Signature successes in my career include:
➝ Single-handedly producing 50+ page bridal, home, and shops issues annually, generating the story ideas and lineups, plus coordinating and hiring freelance writers, models, and hair & makeup staff.
➝ Directing and planning more than 20 photo shoots annually in-studio and on-location for product, home, fashion, and lifestyle features.
➝ Showcasing signature events like Super Bowl XLVI, the 100th Indianapolis 500 race, College Football Playoff National Championship, and the grand opening of Lucas Oil Stadium.
When I am not on a photo shoot or producing an upcoming issue of the magazine, you can find me (or my nose) in a travel book researching my next adventure or outside landscaping my yard. I have a strong, hands-on work ethic and even painted the exterior of my home myself—by hand.
